Musical Theatre Camps are appropriate for all actors, singers and dancers who love musical theater! If you want to fine-tune your skills in time for your Jr./High School & Community Theatre auditions, this is the camp for you! We move fast and work as hard as we play! With classes dealing with in the moment acting, vocal production and jazz/musical theatre dance techniques, you will be well on your way to becoming a genuine triple threat. You will work all week with experienced faculty, who are also seasoned professional artists, along side your fellow performers. All levels welcome!
WEEK I: July 26-July 31
This week is a Skills/Technique Building week where we’ll focus on your individual next steps in acting, singing & dancing. We’ll be working on audition materials & skills that you can take with you into your fall auditions and the culminating performance on Friday, July 31 @ 6pm will be a Cabaret Event featuring solos/duets/trios & monologues/scenes worked on during the week plus a splashy final dance/production number at the end with the entire ensemble!
WEEK II: August 2-August 7
This week is a Production based week where we’ll continue to develop your skills in acting, singing & dancing, but will be working intensively as an ensemble. The culminating performance on Friday, August 7 @ 5pm will be will be putting together an approx. 60-70 minute show that is an brand new ORIGINAL MUSICAL written by a NYC musical theatre writing team, to be workshopped & performed by the students of SLAC. This is an exciting, opportunity to be a part of an original workshop of a show, the week at camp is life-changing week for many, and is a ton of fun!
Sample Daily Schedule

9:45AM Jazz dance technique and choreography
11:00AM Acting class
1:00PM Audition/acting/singing/dancing/rehearse for show
6:00PM Rehearse vocally and stage big opening number
8:30PM Free time
There are no auditions to get in! Students will attend classes in the morning and afternoon, and will join other campers for performances and activities at night. A final performance of materials learned throughout the week will be held on Friday of camp for parents, friends and community members!
