Music Production and Recording Arts Camp is a week of hands-on music production and audio engineering study! Students will learn both creative and technical skills beneficial to arranging, producing and recording with industry-standard computer software, Ableton Live. Taught by industry professionals, this course covers the basics of working in a studio environment in an exciting way. Students to create their own original art as well as capture the sounds of others.

Piano Camp with Ivan Konev (2)

Take your piano-playing skills to the next level! From beginners to advanced pianists, you will learn more at this camp than you ever thought possible. This camp includes the opportunity for students to play on state of the art digital pianos graciously loaned to the Shell Lake Arts Center by Schmitt Music. Campers will receive individualized and group instruction daily, with a focus on both solo and ensemble performance. Each student receives a private lesson daily . In addition, students will participate in a studio class where they will perform and provide critique for each other.

Trumpet Workshop With Robert Baca

This course gives the intermediate to advanced trumpet student, performer, and pedagogue the opportunity to play and discuss trumpet all day and every day for a week with Robert Baca. All attributes needed to build musicality and “chops” will be discussed along with performance applications for orchestra, concert band, and jazz ensemble. Camp content will include private lessons, group study, and trumpet ensemble performance.

This is a brand new camp experience at the Shell Lake Arts Center! Explore the culture and idioms of Trinidad and Tobago and learn to make music on a new instrument that you’ve never played before. This camp is designed for students that have not played Steel Drums before or have limited experience. No prior knowledge about steel drums is necessary but music reading skills are required. Students should be proficient in either bass or treble clef.
