The Eugene Rousseau Saxophone Workshop with Jarrard Harris is one of the oldest and prestigious Saxophone-specific camps in the United States. It is one of the cornerstones of the Shell Lake Arts Center. The Saxophone Camp is a dual jazz and classical saxophone immersion experiences for students.

Trombone Workshop with Dr. Phil Ostrander

Guitar & Bass Workshop (1)

Jason McLean, professional musician and guitar & bass instructor provides an exciting learning environment for guitarists of all abilities. Students will be exposed to all styles and techniques of electric, acoustic, and bass guitar. Students choose an area of focus in small groups, and gather for full class jam sessions. Note reading and music theory will be areas of study during the workshop. Ability to sight-read music not required. A week of presentations and performances by faculty and guest clinicians will conclude with a special student concert.

Drum Set Camp (1) – Basic Level

Your unforgettable week-long drumming experience awaits! During this week you’ll develop the knowledge and skills that are the building blocks of playing percussion. You’ll also expand your knowledge of how to use these building blocks to become a more creative and expressive drummer while gaining awareness about how your playing fits the style of any song. This camp is intended to develop skills and abilities to perform a variety of styles (jazz, Latin, rock, etc.).

Take your piano-playing skills to the next level! From beginners to advanced pianists, you will learn more at this camp than you ever thought possible. This camp includes the opportunity for students to play on state of the art digital pianos graciously loaned to the Shell Lake Arts Center by Schmitt Music. Campers will receive individualized and group instruction daily, with a focus on both solo and ensemble performance. Each student receives a private lesson daily . In addition, students will participate in a studio class where they will perform and provide critique for each other.

Video Production Camp (1)

Spend an exciting week making your own video content and learning the basics of digital filmmaking. You’ll write your own story, record it using other actors/campers, and edit it using Adobe Premiere Pro. Video Production Camp will introduce you to camera and editing techniques, as well as principles of lighting, sound design, and story development. Working individually or in teams, students will complete a final video project that will be shown at the a Red Carpet Premiere on Friday afternoon. Projects will then be added to our collection of projects completed in years before on Youtube.
