About

Painting and Drawing Camp offers visual artists the opportunity to set personal goals in the creation of their artwork and receive one-on-one instruction in a small group setting. It doesn’t matter what your preferred media is, this camp allows the opportunity to both improve your existing techniques and skills but also to experiment with other materials and techniques throughout the week.  This camp is designed for the inquisitive artist–The more ideas and questions you come to camp with, the more you’ll grow as a visual artist!

We’ll begin the the week by setting goals by working with A Master Teacher.  Together, you’ll to create a plan of action to make your goals a reality.

Artists have a preference for their favorite tools and materials.  Campers are encouraged to bring their own supplies with them to camp.  This is not a requirement and their will be a certain amount of supplies provided such as paper, paints, brushes, canvases, scissors, drawing pencils, erasers.  Students can learn to stretch their own canvas as well.  Students will be given a kit for them to take home so that they can continue to make art throughout the rest of the summer and beyond!

From novice to advanced, this camp is a place for everyone to learn and create their own artwork with professional guidance from a Master Teacher.

About the Instructor

Ed Krejcie is a seasoned artist and teacher of 25 years. He is currently employed in the Appleton Area School District visual arts department. He is tirelessly passionate about teaching and making art which is what makes him such a well-respected teacher and artist in the Fox Valley. While many artists are tied to a few specific media, Ed takes pride in being proficient in a variety of mediums, techniques, and styles. Media and techniques includes most painting, drawing, printing, collage, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry making, and even blacksmithing. When given the choice of style, Ed is most fond of abstract and organic creations, although symbolism and realism also reside in his wheelhouse. At home he enjoys life as a husband to his wife Karen, and as a father to his three beautiful kids. (His daughter has attended his class at SLAC twice and wants to return!) Family is a recurring theme in his artwork and family is where his love for automobiles is rooted as well. Not coincidentally, automobilia and hot rod related themes show up in his artwork as well. As if the aforementioned isn’t enough, Ed is a state licensed volunteer Emergency Medical Responder, Vice President of the Appleton Education Association, and owner of his own freelance art business.
