For many years, the Rock Band Camp has been providing students an opportunity to develop their skills both as individual performers and as members of a band. Students will work with other students of similar abilities and skills to create a band. Many of the students they will work with will become friends for life. Spend the entire week working one-on-one with working professional rock band musicians. One of the projects of the week will be to create a video of their band’s performances. On Wednesday night, the students will participate in a faculty/student jam session. The final performance will take place in the Shell Lake Community Park at the Pavilion.
Placement Screening
All students will meet with the Rock Band Faculty when they arrive on Sunday Afternoon. This will be a chance for them to get to know you–your playing and your personality! This is not an audition but a chance for the instructors to learn about your playing and place you in a band where you will be successful and gain the most skills and techniques possible.
Participants should prepare something that is one minute that shows your skills on your instrument and ability to play as a member of a band. This song should let the instructors know what you can actually do.
