Culinary Services Manager
Position Summary
The Culinary Services Manager oversees all food-related operations for the organization, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient culinary services for events, programs, rentals, and daily operations. This role blends leadership, planning, and hands-on kitchen work while supporting the organization’s mission and community values.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute food service for events, programs, camps, and rentals
- Work with leadership to develop menus that align with organizational values, budget, and dietary needs
- Manage kitchen operations, including food prep, service, and cleanup
- Along with leadership, order food and supplies; manage inventory and vendor relationships
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance
- Create and manage kitchen schedules that reflect both staff and volunteers; supervise and train kitchen staff and volunteers
- Monitor food costs and assist with budgeting and cost control
- Ensure kitchen is organized, clean, and operating efficiently
- Collaborate with program staff, event coordinators, and leadership to meet service needs
- Assist with special events, fundraising events, and community meals as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in kitchen management, food service leadership, or culinary operations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices (ServeSafe certification)
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen equipment and supplies as needed
