Brad Burrill

Brad Burrill has been a public school music teacher for over 22 years. His career began as an elementary general music teacher in Muskego, WI (1992-96), then continued as a middle and high school choral and general music teacher in Stewartville, MN (1998-2000), Wisconsin Dells, WI (2000-09), and most recently Wausau, WI (2012-19), where he also served as music department chairperson. He served as guest director for the Wausau Lyric Choir in the spring of 2012.

Brad is also an award-winning composer. His compositions are primarily choral, and he has written for many ability levels, specializing in a cappella works. In 1998, he served as Assistant Director of Music and Composer in Residence at Christ United Methodist Church, in Rochester, MN. His Full Fathom Five was featured at the 2003 American Composers Forum – Chicago Chapter Choral Reading Salon. Loss and Gain was chosen as the winner of the 2006 Wisconsin Choral Directors Association Choral Composition Competition. Santa Barbara Music published My Soul Is Awakened in June, 2007, and it has sold over 5000 copies to date. His setting of The Shadows of the Evening Hours was chosen as a finalist in The Ascending Voice Hymn Competition during the summer of 2007, at Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA. He was the featured composer in both 2015 and 2017 at the 24-Hour Arts Challenge, hosted by the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point at Wausau. Other notable compositions include: Remember, Modern Courtship, I Heard a Bird Sing, and The Day is Done.
