TrueGrass specializes in reviving music of the old-time masters, adapting modern material to the bluegrass idiom, and creating new songs and tunes in a traditional stringband style. The group is made up of Tom Draughon, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist; Bruce Qualey, a classically trained bass player who enjoys performing all kinds of music; Jed Malischke, a concert and festival producer and premier bluegrass multi-instrumentalist; and Carol McDowall a classically trained violinist who also plays jazz, folk, rock and old time fiddle tunes.
